my semester classes have officially started. (insert enormously obnoxious sigh here)

as always, there was a bit of a mix up and i had to walk from one side of campus to the other all while struggling with my whale-weighted excuse of a backpack. oh, and did i mention there's a never ending heat-wave where i live?  :)

haha, it wasn't all bad. there's a new art building in the making and i'll be one of the many students to help design a mosaic floor. oh, and my art instructor informed me one of my pieces made it into the upcoming art show! hopefully, i'll be able to take a photo of it for the blog. it's a real simple piece...black and white (eraser pull-out). 

tomorrow, i will tackle my composition and design II classes. although, my instructor is offering me a spot in his drawing II class. i may switch, but we'll see.

i found an old, unused sketchbook recently. so, now i've got three sketchbooks. hmmm.

i've decided one to have more of my doodles than my, for a lack of a better word, 'try-hard' work. haha.

and i went crazy in it today.

you see, i couldn't sleep. i've found out that when i'm the sleepiest, i draw like a madman.

i'm so geeky in the sense that i get excited for new semester classes. 

initially, i had no chance of getting the algebra class i wanted. BUT thanks to the students who forgot to pay for their classes before the deadline, i've got a spot in the class! 

downsides of this upcoming semester include:

1. a huge, intimidating dent in my college fund.
2. scheduling that is just about impossible.
3. leaves me less time to update the blog.

it's rather nerve-racking, but exciting nonetheless.  i will be taking on five classes. dun dun dun!

i feel like i haven't been drawing as much as i should. 

i've got a very spontaneous job interview for tomorrow and my sleeping pattern is all askew again. so, good luck with that. 

oh, and tomorrow is the deadline to pay for my fall semester classes. tomorrow is the day for everything, huh?

i got inspired by an artist on deviantart and her piece based off the movie 'never let me go'. so, i decided to draw my very own tommy. 

oh, and i absolutely loved the movie.

so, there was a small issue with my new sketchbook. turns out the inside covers were smudging black onto the first and last pages. 

it isn't a big deal, but i decided to fix it; and by doing so, i managed to somewhat customize my sketchbook.  :)

i have these patterned cardstock papers lying around and i finally put them to good use! the back cover has a similar orange pattern glued to it as well. and no more smudge!

anyways, i had a lot of fun with the first page of my sketchbook. i got to try out my new brush pen and i absolutely love it.

i've finally got new sketchbooks, which is perfect because i've just used up all the paper on my old one. 

and my new brush pen! i'm extremely excited to try it out. 

now i'm just waiting on a book i purchased and some computer software that i got on sale!
